If you look on the figure, you can see the pH scale ranging from 0 to 14, 0 being the most acidic and 14 being the most alkaline. Less free H+ molecules equals a higher pH value which means the substance is more alkaline. The average pH of the human body is 7.35. Our bodies store excess alkaline reserves to buffer acids, but if we’re eating a conventional diet filled with pesticides and processed foods, our reserve has likely depleted.

TO SUMMARIZE…
Viruses, bacteria, yeast, mold, fungus, candida and cancer cells thrive in an acidic, low oxygen, low pH (anything below neutral pH 7) environment. An acidic pH can result from many things, such as emotional stress or toxic overload, but most commonly results from an acid-forming diet. The most alkaline foods are fruits and veggies (Spirulina, chlorella, lemons, kale, collard greens, brussel sprouts etc.)
When our pH levels are too acidic, The body will compensate for acid by using alkaline minerals, like sodium from the stomach, or calcium from our bones. This is the cause of Osteoporosis and most other chronic diseases. If there are not enough minerals in the diet to compensate, a build-up of acids in the cells will occur.

CAN’T I JUST DRINK BOTTLED WATER THAT’S ALKALINE?
The answer is no! Just because a substance is alkaline doesn’t mean that it’s good for you! A substance can’t hold its alkalinity for more than 2-3 days. Often, a bottle of water you get from the supermarked that has the “High pH value” isn’t actually alkaline itself but has added alkaline substances in it such as baking soda or magnesium.
